SEN Teacher for KS1 and KS2 students with Complex Needs

As an empathetic SEN Teacher in this School, you'll have the fulfilling responsibility of educating KS1 and KS2 pupils with complex needs, including challenges in speech, language, and communication. Your role will revolve around crafting personalised learning approaches, implementing specialised teaching methods, and cultivating an environment that nurtures and includes every student.

This is a full-time, permanent role to start in September 2024. The salary will be equal to the main Teachers’ pay scale plus SEN points.

As a SEN Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Devise and deliver captivating lessons tailored to the unique needs and capabilities of students with complex needs.
  • Employ a variety of teaching techniques and resources to bolster students' communication skills and academic advancement.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and support staff, to develop comprehensive learning experiences.
  • Track student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly to ensure each individual maximises their potential.
  • Cultivate a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to excel.

SEN Teacher requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Possess prior experience working with SEN students, particularly those encountering complex needs and issues in speech, language, and communication.
  • Demonstrate a solid grasp of SEN teaching methodologies, strategies, and best practices.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents or guardians.
  • Showcase dedication to enhancing the lives and academic achievements of SEN students, committed to championing their well-being.
