Job Details - Food, Art, Design and Technology Technician - Hackney

· maintaining machinery, tools and equipment, including in the workshop, darkroom, graphics studio and kiln room;
· preparing materials and equipment for use in lessons within the department;
· maintaining equipment and store cupboards in the food room.
· Preparing ingredients for use in food lessons.
· ensuring the well-organised storage of materials, equipment and work;
· providing technical support within the classroom including working alongside students;
· assisting in special exhibitions and displays of Art and Design across the school;
· working independently but also making a significant contribution to the team;
· being technically and administratively efficient, with an ability to adapt quickly to changes and provide creative, astute and efficient solutions under time pressure, when required.

Person Specification - Food, Art, Design and Technology Technician - Hackney

An ideal candidate for this role is a graduate of Food, Art, Design and Technology who holds a degree or at least a 2:1. This successful school are looking for a someone who has a strong academic background, is passionate about Food, Art, Design and Technology and able to demonstrate that passion in a classroom support setting. Prior experience tutoring / mentoring young people would be advantageous to your application but not essential.

As a Food Art, Design and Technology your responsibilities will include the preparation of workshop apparatus/equipment and materials as required, advising, and assisting in the preparation of practical's and controlled assessments, maintenance and cleaning of equipment after use. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to supervise and assist students during lessons when required.
