Job Title: Vocational Tutor – Woodwork & Design Technology

Location: Congleton

Salary: £600 - £700 per week

8:30pm- 4:30pm Monday to Friday

Simply Education is seeking Vocational Tutor to work in partnership SEMH School based Congleton. The school supports secondary aged students to access tailored learning opportunities that focus on the students interests and needs.

As a tutor you will be working with a small group of three students creating woodwork-based projects such as birdboxes, benches and small storage units. They are also keen to hear from people from a construction background with an interest in bricklaying.

You may not have worked in a school setting before as this isn’t essential as training would be provided. They are keen to hear from people with good a joinery or bricklaying background.

The successful Tutor must be empathetic and nurturing in their approach and able to model and promote high behaviour expectations. It is vital that you can communicate effectively and build rapport and common interests with the students to inspire and motivate them.

Key Responsibilities:

• To deliver high-quality bespoke learning opportunities that focus on the student's interests and vocational studies

• Support the students to become re-engaged with their learning.

• Model and promote high behaviour expectations.

• Communicate effectively and build rapport and common interests with the students to inspire and motivate them.

• To prepare the students for life beyond school.

Key Requirements:

• Transporting students, you must be willing to add business insurance and be comfortable lone working with students.

• An understanding of working with disengaged students.

• Knowledge and understanding of vocational education.

• Strong communication skills.

• Resilience and the ability to model and promote high behaviour expectations.

• Ability to inspire and motivate students.

• Willingness to learn new skills and techniques.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
