Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a teaching assistant who is experienced when dealing with challenging behaviour to work with a school in the Falmouth area. If you are dedicated and want to help children to receive the best education possible by encouraging them to focus and showing them that learning can be fun and engaging this is the role for you.

In this role you will be expected to work with a group of KS1 students within the school who show challenging behaviour. You will be required to help keep them engaged during lessons and help them to complete their work and stay on topic. If they are particularly struggling within the classroom you may be required to take them into another room or even outside to help improve their learning that day.

You will be required to help the class teacher with preparing students work, monitoring their progress and the set up and tidy up of tasks. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills as you will need to communicate with the teacher and at times the SENCO and parents about the students’ progress to help make specific learning plans.

We are ideally looking for somebody who has at least 2 years’ experience working with children and ideally experience with challenging behaviour. You will also need good interpersonal skills and have experience of using different teaching and communication methods. You will also need to be aware of will be aware of Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behaviour, Teaching and Learning and Equal Opportunities policies. Organisational and time management skills are very important in this role as a lack of these skills could distress the students. You will also need a Child Workforce DBS which can be completed during the recruitment process

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
