We are seeking a dedicated Student Adviser to join our team at the University of Hertfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives by providing high-quality, confidential, and impartial advice.

As a Student Adviser, you will be a vital part of a team of experienced professionals. You will support students in navigating university procedures and regulations, making informed decisions, and representing themselves effectively. Your role will include handling a wide range of issues, from academic to financial, housing, and welfare matters.

We are looking for someone who is not only knowledgeable and experienced but also passionate about student support. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Undertake detailed casework, providing one-to-one or group consultations.
* Advocate and mediate for students, maintaining the highest service standards.
* Liaise with university and external agencies to support student welfare.
* Promote our services through events, presentations, and training sessions.
* Develop and maintain accurate records and adhere to GDPR and internal policies.

General Duties:
* Maintain a safe and respectful workplace.
* Demonstrate integrity, punctuality, and professionalism.
* Abide by Herts SU policies and contribute to a positive image of the organization.

Person Specification:

Essential:
* Degree or equivalent work experience.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Experience in a welfare, support, or advice environment.
* Strong administrative skills and ability to manage a demanding workload.
* Commitment to equal opportunities.

Desirable:
* Relevant qualification in advice or welfare.
* Experience in a student-led, democratic environment.
* Knowledge of university procedures and support services.

Due to being a Full-Time position, this role is not appropriate for anyone who is currently studying.
