£28,000 - £36,000/annum

Empowering is supporting a Ruddington Based SEND provision in hiring a Quality SEND Teacher from September 2024. The School is an independent specialist provision serving children and young people in the East Midlands with a variety of SEND needs.

Class sizes are small and you will have support from dedicated TA's

The school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and a range of diagnosis which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Attachment needs and mild/moderate learning needs.

Role responsibilities

  • Responsible for the planning and delivery of high quality lessons within the national curriculum whilst meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
  • Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning.
  • Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting
  • Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy
  • Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
  • Possible supervising on lunch and break times
  • Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
  • Building relationships with staff and pupils
  • Collecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessments
  • Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils progress
  • To have pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils
  • Potentially lead in a subject area
  • Ensure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carers

Requirements

  • Relevent Teacher Qualification
  • Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children from all needs and backgrounds
  • Have excellent behaviour management skillsUnderstand the expectations against the Teachers Standards.
  • Have a strong basic education to degree level
  • Previous successful teaching experience
  • Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an Educational setting
  • Experience of behaviour management and techniques
  • Committed to professional development and willing to learn
  • Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work.
