TeacherActive are proud to be working with a primary school in Swansea who are looking to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant after May Half Term. Furthermore, the school promote a supportive ethos and provide a broad, balanced and enriched curriculum to encourage their pupils to foster a love of learning.

The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant to start after half term until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will be working five days a week in a Year One  class, supervising and providing particular behaviour support for pupils, including those with Additional Learning Needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities. encouraging the pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.

Ideally the Teaching Assistant must:

  • Have relevant experience of working with children (minimum 6months) 
  • Have Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools
  • Understand the skills needed to support a pupil 1-1 with additional learning needs
  • Have experience of Behaviour Support Interventions
  • Have experience of working with Autistic children
  • Be enthusiastic, committed and passionate about teaching and learning
  • Be able to nurture, inspire and motivate pupils
  • Be flexible in their approach to changing situations
  • Be able to work as part of a team to achieve the best for each and every pupil
