Cover supervisors for KS1 and KS2

With term 3 in full swing, our client primary schools are requiring cover supervisors to deliver lessons, especially with teachers and resources being taken by SATs exams happening now. Tick Education would like to work with anyone who has existing experience working with children, ideally in schools or in a group-based tutoring environment.

The role of a cover supervisor is to ensure a pre-set lesson (along with resources and teaching materials) is delivered to children and the independent work required is completed. This ensures no gaps in the curriculum for any classes – this doesn’t require you to be a qualified teacher nor a subject specialist. The key skills to this role are classroom management – building rapport with the children you are teaching for the day and building relationships with both the classroom TAs working alongside you and the SLT at the school.

Requirements for cover supervisors for KS1 and KS2 roles:-

• To have previous experience working with children of primary age
• Characteristics: Passion for teaching, drive to succeed and lead children to unlock their potential with a friendly, patient manor to ensure rapport building and trust with children
• An understanding of the Primary age curriculum (UK)
• Part time or full-time availability each week
• A valid child’s workforce DBS certificate, or willingness to get one
