We are working with a successful Secondary school in their search for their next subject lead for Food & Design Technology. This role would be Permanent and to start from as soon as the right person becomes available.

The school is rated 'Good' by Ofsted where students are overwhelmingly positive and they take pride in their work and behave well in lessons and social times. It boasts state of the art technology and exceptional green spaces. 

The role:
  • Starting in September 2024 or sooner if available 
  • Responsible for overseeing the running of the subject department 
  • Responsible for the strategic direction and development of the DT & Food Tech Department 
  • Teaching Commitment, you will be expected to teach your own classes 
  • Lead a team of department staff and sharing best practice 
  • Running/ organising department specific CPD

Experience and Qualifications:
  • A teaching qualification recognised in the UK (QTS desirable)
  • A degree or higher in DT/Food Tech 
  • Proven experience delivering DT/Food Tech at secondary school level 
  • Strong leadership and management skills, prior experience leading a team would be beneficial
  • Inspirational and assertive leadership with a up to date knowledge of department curriculum and assessment strategies 
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
