Teaching Assistant - Marland Primary School
Part Time, 33.33 hours per week (term time only) 39 weeks per annum
Salary: £17,969 - £18,576 per annum (£12.18 - £12.59 per hour)
Marland is a successful all age (KS1-4) special school for students with Social, Emotional and/or Mental Health (SEMH) needs. It is located across four sites; Peters Marland, Barnstaple and Central Bideford and has just opened a new 'Secondary Day School' (Yr7-Yr11) in East of the Water, Bideford for 40 students. This post will be based at Marland Primary School, Bideford.
The overall Marland group of schools are currently graded as 'Good' by Ofsted Education, with the residential care provision separately judged to be 'Outstanding' by Ofsted Social Care inspectorate. Our overarching ethos is based around personalisation and meeting the needs of each individual child. We utilise 'THRIVE' based social and emotional development at the core of everything we do.
The post involves supporting students in the classroom and during many varied off-site activities, so a willingness to work in a range of learning environments is essential. You will need to be an effective communicator who is skilled at building relationships and passionate about helping young people develop socially, academically and emotionally.
Ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
