GSL Education is currently seeking a Science Teacher for one of the local Secondary Schools in Portsmouth. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Science education to secondary school students, devising engaging lesson plans, and monitoring student progress in adherence to the national curriculum. This role involves collaboration with the Science department and close work with the Head of Faculty. The school places importance on fostering fundamental skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving with a touch of creativity, values integral to its ethos.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver Science lessons aligned with the national curriculum, catering to individual student needs.
  • Employ diverse teaching methods, including lectures, group activities, and practical experiments, to enhance student engagement.
  • Evaluate student progress through regular assessments, homework, and tests.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and parents, identifying areas for improvement and success strategies.
  • Utilise technology and resources to enrich the learning experience.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities like science clubs, fairs, and field trips.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement school-wide programs and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
  • Previous experience teaching Science to school students.
  • Profound knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment methods.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Updated DBS.
