We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant on a full time basis in Aston, Birmingham (B6).

The school is a two form entry school and caters for pupils ages 3-11.

This role will initially begin on a temporary basis, however has the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

Working hours are 8:30-3:30 Monday-Friday.

Role/Responsibilities:

• Work as a whole class TA, supporting groups of pupils in the classroom
• Support pupils on a 1:1 and group intervention basis where required
• Support students in their academic, social, and emotional development.
• Adapt your approach to meet the needs of each pupil
• Support the class teacher in behaviour management
• Follow the schools policies and procedures
• Teach small phonics groups following Read, Write Inc.

Requirements:

• Have previous experience as a whole class TA
• Have previous experience of teaching small phonics groups (preferably using RWI)
• Hold experience of working with pupils with SEN
• Have a genuine passion for supporting young people
• Hold a DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
