Our Partner School is a Specialist school for children with SEMH challenges located in Bury St Edmunds. The science department is dynamic and dedicated to nurturing young minds in the fields of biology, chemistry, and physics.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Science Teacher to join our Partner School in Bury St Edmunds. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging science lessons to students in accordance with the national curriculum. The role involves teaching a range of abilities across Key Stages 3 and 4,  and fostering a supportive learning environment conducive to academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, creative science lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Create engaging and innovative teaching resources to support lesson delivery.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attainment and progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of work and contribute to departmental initiatives.
  • Participate in parents' evenings, open days, and other school events as required.
  • Uphold school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and behaviour management.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Science or a related field.
  • Strong subject knowledge in biology, chemistry, and physics.
  • Experience teaching science at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school community.
