Career Teachers are currently recruiting for teaching assistants to work in a special needs school in Leeds. These roles are full time to begin this September and be on going for the rest of the academic year with the view of then going permanent.

As a special needs teaching assistant you will be:

  • Supporting learners with additional learning needs such as autism to thrive and have memorable experiences at school. Ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Promoting inclusivity in the classroom, using the resources provided to make sure that all students are involved and have access to learning.
  • Managing challenging behaviours, diffusing situations calmly and creating a positive learning environment.
  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher and other members of staff, using clear communication, and working as part of the team.
  • Responsible for engaging students in learning, spending time to get to know their unique learning methods and putting that into practice.

Role specifics:

  • Your working hours will be 8.30-15.30, term time only.
  • These are full time roles, beginning September 2024.
  • You will be working with students who have special educational needs.
  • The school is located in an easily accessible area of Leeds, with on site parking and good public transport links.

All quoted rates are inclusive of 12.07% holiday pay.
