We're thrilled to present an exceptional opportunity for a talented and passionate Food Technology Teacher to join a dynamic school community in Dover. The Food Technology Teacher role provides the chance to ignite students' passion for food, nutrition, and culinary arts while nurturing their creativity and practical skills.


As a Food Technology Teacher, you'll play a pivotal role in inspiring students to explore the world of food, cooking, and nutrition. You'll deliver engaging and practical lessons that introduce students to a variety of culinary techniques, ingredients, and cuisines, while promoting healthy eating habits and culinary creativity.

Key Responsibilities of Food Technology Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive Food Technology lessons that align with the national curriculum and promote practical skills development, nutritional awareness, and culinary creativity.
  • Provide hands-on instruction and support to students in the kitchen, guiding them through food preparation, cooking techniques, and recipe creation.
  • Introduce students to a variety of culinary traditions and cuisines, fostering an appreciation for diverse cultures and food experiences.
  • Promote health and safety practices in the kitchen, ensuring students understand and adhere to food hygiene standards and safe cooking practices.
  • Assess student progress through practical assignments, projects, and assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their growth and development in Food Technology.

Food Technology Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Food Technology at the secondary level, with a passion for inspiring students and fostering a love for culinary arts and nutrition.
  • Strong practical culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
  • A commitment to promoting healthy eating habits, nutritional awareness, and practical cooking skills among students.
