SEMH Teaching assistant - Bury - ASAP - Temp to Perm

We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to work with small groups or individuals with SEMH needs on a full time basis. The role will be full time and will initially be a temporary role, but will become permanent for the right person. The students can present high levels of complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning disabilities, SEMH, and mental health problems. You will be working with children and young people who need 1:1 support for multiple reasons, such as:
Looked After Children
Anxiety
Exclusion
Speech and language difficulties
Social emotional and mental health needs
Physical and mental health issues, disabilities and learning difficulties
The candidate must have:
Some experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour
Experience of de-escalation training would be advantageous
The school would also consider candidates from youth work backgrounds, or similar roles
Confidence to make decisions
Excellent communication and the ability to build positive relationships with the students
Empathy and understanding
Willingness to enhance skills with professional training and development

An enhanced DBS that is on the update service
Safeguarding training issued in the last 12 months (essential however training can be provided)
Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided)
FGM & behaviour management training (essential, however training can be provided)
