SEN Teaching assistant needed.

Academics a leading recruitment company based in Stoke-on-Trent are working with a local Primary School who are in need of an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with specific learning needs on a one-to-one basis. This will be a full time role to assist pupils affected by ASD throughout their school day.

What you'll be doing as a SEN Teaching Assistant!

  • As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will accompany a pupil throughout their school day and maximise their learning ability.
  • You will be keen to encourage that the pupil remains on task as best they can during class.
  • You will attend any school trips that includes your pupils to help them feel more comfortable and supported.
  • You will report to the Teacher on the pupil's progress so that the Teacher can make reasonable adjustments to their future lesson plans.

What Qualifications will you need?

  • As a SEN Teaching Assistant, Experience with specific learning needs, in particular ASD is high priority.
  • A full, clean DBS is required for this SEN Teaching Assistant role.
  • A level 3 Childcare Qualification is desirable, but not essential.
  • A positive outlook on education and the development of children within the academic system, as well as their social and emotional growth.
