Primary SEN Teaching Assistant

Hourly rate: £12.82

Location: Bournemouth and Christchurch

Start date: Immediate and September starts available

Both full-time and part-time applicants considered

GSL Education are seeking to appoint friendly and proactive candidates to work as SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs in schools located in Bournemouth and Christchurch. The selected applicants will have the opportunity to nurture young pupils, encouraging them to learn and reach their full potential through consistent and positive support.  

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to:

  • Make learning enjoyable and interactive, and encourage lesson engagement
  • Support pupils’ individual needs and tailor strategies accordingly
  • Build a strong relationship with pupils to enable them to achieve their academic and personal goals  

In order to be considered for the SEN Teaching Assistant role, the candidate must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Meet GSL’s safer recruitment background checks
  • Have a Child Enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one
  • Be committed to safeguarding – either already have a safeguarding certificate form the last 12 months, or be willing to participate in our free online course

Please be advised that this role requires strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
