Do you have a thorough understanding of English language mechanics, grammar, literary devices, and genres to provide guidance to students?

Do you possess prior experience instructing students at the KS3 and KS4 levels in educational settings?

Do you have a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for secondary school or an equivalent teaching certification required for this role?

We're in search of a passionate and energetic English educator to join our team in Blackburn/Burnley, guiding students at both KS3 and KS4 levels. The daily pay rate for this opportunity ranges from £155 to £230, depending on your experience, qualifications, and teaching level.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating a positive learning environment through professionally planned lessons and classroom displays
  • Using imagination and innovation to enhance the learning experience in children
  • Having control over the whole class and maintaining discipline
  • Adhering to the curriculum, including up to date changes in the structure
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Strong subject knowledge
  • Punctual and reliable

  • Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
  • Strong classroom management
  • Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour

Personal Attributes:

  • You will have a genuine passion for teaching
  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
  • Be flexible and committed
