Job Description:

Are you passionate about championing the needs of students with special educational needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum? Our client is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialisation in Autism to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students with autism, guiding them towards academic success and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support to students with autism, utilising your expertise to implement personalised strategies that address their specific learning and behavioural needs.
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to accommodate the diverse needs of students with autism.
• Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
• Work alongside the SENCO and other staff members to develop individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies for students with autism.
• Share your knowledge and insights with colleagues, providing training and support to enhance the school’s provision for students with autism.

Requirements:

• Proven experience working with students with autism, ideally within a school setting, giving you firsthand knowledge of effective support strategies and interventions.
• A compassionate and patient approach, coupled with a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of students with special educational needs.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, fostering a collaborative approach to support.
• Relevant qualifications and training in special education or autism support are advantageous, demonstrating your commitment to professional development and excellence in your field.
