Exciting Opportunity: Experienced Teacher for Primary School Autism Provision in Ludlow, Shropshire 

Are you a compassionate and experienced educator with a passion for supporting children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD)? We are seeking a dedicated Teacher to join our dynamic team at [School Name], located in the picturesque town of Ludlow, Shropshire. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the unique needs and abilities of autistic students within a primary school setting.
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions to support sensory processing, communication, social skills development, and behaviour management.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including special education staff, therapists, and support workers, to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure holistic support for each student.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to succeed.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and carers, and provide regular feedback on student progress and achievements.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in autism education and apply this knowledge to enhance teaching and learning experiences.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant experience working with children with autism, preferably within a primary school setting.
  • Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and familiarity with a range of evidence-based interventions and strategies, such as Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), TEACCH, and sensory integration techniques.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to accommodate the diverse learning styles and communication preferences of autistic students.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting the social-emotional well-being of autistic children and their families.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice, with a willingness to learn and implement new approaches to support student success.
