Position Overview: As a Teacher of English, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students in the study of English language and literature. You will deliver dynamic and creative lessons that ignite a love for learning and enable students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Teach a range of English topics, including language skills, literature, and writing, utilizing innovative teaching methods and resources to enhance student engagement and understanding.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic development, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective interventions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum plans, schemes of work, and assessment strategies that reflect the aims and objectives of the English department.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, maintaining open communication and actively contributing to the school community.
  • Contribute to the extracurricular life of the school by participating in enrichment activities, clubs, and events that enhance the educational experience for students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Specialism in English language and literature, with a deep understanding of the curriculum and assessment requirements at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to inspiring and motivating students to achieve their academic potential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Ability to differentiate teaching and learning activities to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Enthusiasm for professional development and a willingness to engage in continuous learning and improvement.
