Accelerate Teaching is currently seeking a dedicated 1:1 Behaviour Support Specialist to join a Primary School team in Pontefract. What We're Looking Specifically For:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children in a school or education-based setting is essential and very important to be successful in this role.
  • Specialised Skills: Experience supporting children with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • Compassion: A compassionate and understanding approach to supporting children with complex needs, recognising their individual strengths and challenges.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to develop and implement tailored support plans.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to the changing needs of the child and school environment, always ensuring effective support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated one-on-one support to a child with SEMH needs, implementing personalised behaviour management strategies and interventions.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing relationship with the child, offering emotional support, guidance, and encouragement.
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement individualised support plans, ensuring the child's needs are met effectively.
  • Monitor progress and evaluate the effectiveness of support strategies, making adjustments as necessary to facilitate the child's growth and success.
