Ofsted rated Good SEMH Provision located in the London Borough of Greenwich is recruiting for a KS3 – GCSE English Teacher / Teacher of English to start immediately!

They are seeking a skilled and experienced English Teacher who can teach up to GCSE English. You will be responsible for developing fun lessons to students aged 11-16 with a range of behaviour difficulties, including ASD, SEMH and ODD. You will be expected to work with KS3 and GCSE level students, ensuring they achieve their academic and personal goals.

Small classes of up to 7 children per class, which will be supported by several Behaviour SEN TAs.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience of teaching English to students with behaviour difficulties, including ASD, SEMH and ODD.
  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 and GCSE English curriculum.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills, with the ability to establish clear boundaries and expectations for students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, their families and other professionals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing resources and ideas to improve teaching and learning.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons to students with a range of behaviour difficulties, including ASD, SEMH and ODD.
  • Use a range of teaching and learning strategies to ensure all students are able to make progress in their learning, regardless of their individual needs and abilities.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, their families and other professionals involved in their care and education.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach to teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate interventions to support their learning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and behaviour, including attendance and punctuality records.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures, particularly in relation to behaviour management and safeguarding.
  • You have an in date DBS on the update service.
  • You live in easy commutable distance to the London Borough of Greenwich
