The Role: As an ICT Teacher, you will deliver engaging and interactive lessons that enable students to develop their digital skills, computational thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality ICT lessons that cover a range of topics, including computer science, digital literacy, coding, and information technology, catering to the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Practical Application: Provide hands-on opportunities for students to explore and experiment with a variety of software applications, digital tools, and programming languages, fostering creativity and innovation.
  • Digital Citizenship: Teach students responsible and ethical use of technology, including internet safety, cyberbullying awareness, and digital footprint management, promoting positive digital citizenship.
  • Project-Based Learning: Facilitate project-based learning experiences that allow students to apply their ICT skills and knowledge to real-world problems and challenges, encouraging collaboration and teamwork.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess students' digital skills and understanding, providing constructive feedback and support to help them develop and refine their ICT capabilities.
  • Integration: Collaborate with colleagues across subject areas to integrate ICT into cross-curricular projects and activities, enhancing students' digital literacy across the curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Passion for ICT education and a strong knowledge of the ICT curriculum, including computer programming, digital literacy, and information technology concepts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students in the use of technology for learning and innovation.
  • Technical proficiency in a range of software applications, programming languages, and digital tools, with experience using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity in ICT education, ensuring all students have the opportunity to develop essential digital skills and competencies.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in ICT education.
