Regular and occasional travel across the Midlands/to various locations will be part of this role. 

Job Overview:  

The Operations Manager will be responsible for leading, motivating and supporting teams of keyworkers and other support consultants. The Operations Manager will ensure that staff integrate into multi-disciplinary teams and work together to provide regular, high quality support to participants to deliver contractual and commercial performance measures. The Operations Manager will collaborate with other delivery offers available within the company and externally in the region to ensure Restart participants gain the best possible service to enhance positive outcomes. 

Key Responsibilities:

Operations:

  • Fully understand and comply with the contract terms, guidance, & procedures
  • Create and manage strong relationships with key referral agencies and statutory bodies to encourage participant referrals & new business
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with a network of local agencies and key stakeholders, including Job Centre Plus, Community Volunteer Service (CVS) organisations, & local employers
  • Engage, build trust, and maintain effective relationships with other local training providers and colleges to encourage cross referrals and progression routes
  • Ensure financial claims are compliant, completed & submitted in line with the contract guidance & schedule
  • Participate in budget setting and ensure good financial management in relation to income and expenditure
  • Collate and submit reports in line with the schedule and performance monitoring requirements, as well as any exceptional reports, as needed
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the local labour market including extensive understanding of current benefits, regimes, and entitlements
  • Regularly attend meetings with the prime contractor & DWP to ensure reporting to them is timely & accurate
  • Work with team to ensure all participant records are accurate and kept up to date to ensure full compliance
  • Work to improve internal processes to continuously improve the services they provide to participants
  • Ensure all quality and compliance measures are maintained and audit and assessments results exceed contractual expectations
  • Undertake continuing professional development (CPD)

Supervisory Duties:

  • Set KPIs for direct reports in line with contractual requirements 
  • Carry out observations to review individual performance, providing feedback on any areas for improvement to ensure quality and compliance standards are met
  • Conduct performance appraisals, monthly one-to-one meetings, and probationary reviews with direct reports and ensure staff welfare is taken into account. 
  • Ensure a positive team culture is promoted and maintained.
  • Carry out employee engagement activities, including organising an annual volunteer day with team and skip-level meetings with indirect reports.
  • Support staff members with appropriate professional development.
  • Office management- ensure offices within the Operations Manager’s remit meet the required standard for the company and that all safeguarding and health and safety measures are maintained and signage displayed.

General: 

  • Maintain an awareness of and actively follow and promote Company policies, including, but not limited to, Safer Recruitment, Data Protection, Information Security, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, & Prevent 
  • Undertake any training as required by Company policy and take responsibility for professional development
  • Work to minimise the operational impacts on the environment 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Operations Director
