We are working with an education provider in Bristol who are looking for an Automotive Trainer/Workshop Supervisor to join their team on a full-time and permanent basis.

Our client is a Alternative Education Provision for 14-17 year olds who need support in developing vocational and social skills to enable them to re-engage with education, employment and their communities. Our client are needing someone to deliver training on automotive, motorcycle and go-kart maintenance to small groups, as well as supervising the learners in the workshop (one tutor would supervise approximately four learners). The training is entry-level, and the education provider would award their own in-house certification to learners that complete their course.

Some of the duties of the role would include:
-The day-to-day management of the delivery of their training programmes, and the management of the premises.
-Review of existing schemes of work and lesson plans
-Responsibility for Health & Safety in the workshop
-Co-supervision of groups of disadvantaged young people, aged 14-17 years old (some of whom may have challenging behaviours) in a variety of tasks centred around Motor Vehicle Repair and Maintenance, Functional Skills, Road Safety and Employment Studies.
-Carry out student Initial Assessments, Individual Learning Programmes, Reviews and Evaluations

The starting salary for this position is between £36,500 and £40,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience), and the package would also include a stakeholder pension (with 5% matched by the employer), and 65 days of holiday per year (non-term time).

To be eligible for the position, you MUST have:
-An Automotive qualification
-Experience of delivering training
-A teaching qualification (or the willingness to achieve one)
-A full clean UK driving licence
