The Role: As a Humanities Teacher, you will deliver engaging and interdisciplinary lessons that encourage students to explore the complexities of human society and culture. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality Humanities lessons that integrate history, geography, and social sciences, catering to the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Historical Inquiry: Introduce students to key historical events, periods, and themes, fostering critical thinking and historical inquiry skills.
  • Geographical Understanding: Explore global geography, including physical landscapes, cultural regions, and human-environment interactions, to develop students' spatial awareness and geographical literacy.
  • Social Sciences Exploration: Investigate social systems, institutions, and cultural practices, encouraging students to analyze societal issues and perspectives from multiple viewpoints.
  • Project-Based Learning: Implement interdisciplinary projects and activities that allow students to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world challenges, promoting collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess students' understanding and skills in history, geography, and social sciences, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in Humanities, History, Geography, or a related field.
  • Passion for interdisciplinary teaching and a strong knowledge of the Humanities curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students in the study of human societies and cultures.
  • Effective classroom management skills, with a proactive approach to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Humanities program.
