The Role: As a Latin Teacher, you will deliver engaging and immersive lessons that ignite students' curiosity and enthusiasm for the Latin language and classical studies. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality Latin lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students, from beginners to advanced levels.
  • Classical Literature: Introduce students to a range of classical texts, including poetry, prose, and historical documents, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Language Proficiency: Support students in developing their Latin language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension, through interactive activities and exercises.
  • Cultural Understanding: Explore the cultural and historical context of the ancient Roman world, helping students develop a deeper understanding of classical civilization.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess students' progress in Latin proficiency and classical studies, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Enrichment Activities: Organize extracurricular activities, such as Latin clubs, classical literature readings, and cultural events, to enrich students' learning experiences.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in Classics, Latin, or a related field.
  • Passion for Latin language and classical studies, with a strong knowledge of Latin grammar, vocabulary, and literature.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students in the study of Latin.
  • Effective classroom management skills, with a proactive approach to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Latin program.
