A fantastic opportunity has presented for a trained or aspiring SENDCO to work on a part-time basis in a wonderful school in Droylsden, Tameside. This is a part-time role (3-4 days a week) which will start September 2024 with a view to transferring onto a permanent school contract. This role is predominantly a non-teaching role. However, one day a week would be spent in is EYFS to learn about families and children in the early stage of their education journey in order to pave the way for a successful experience throughout school.

This exciting opportunity pays an attractive salary (between £170-210 per day) and would suit those who have a passion for SEND and supporting strong child, parent and agency partnerships to support best outcomes for children.

About the Role

As the Send and Inclusion lead, you will be at the centre of the SEND provision and will develop a fabulous knowledge of staff, children and families across school. You will successfully support children with additional needs on EHCP plans and be tasked with monitoring progress and inputting data online as well as ensuring paperwork is up to date. Where necessary, you will communicate with external agencies to arrange review meetings, discuss future plans and feedback on individual pupil progress.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have prior experience as SENDCo in the primary setting or have a strong background in SEND and be an aspiring SENDCo with a strong knowledge of the SEND code of practice.
  • Be an integral part of the Senior Leadership team.
  • Have experience planning and delivering provision for a wide range of specific needs including teaching and learning and leadership activities.
  • Have a passion for ensuring children with SEND and their families are well supported
  • Uphold the positive ethos of the school and promote teamwork at every opportunity.

To be successful in this role:

  • You must hold QTS status or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Have a background in teaching and SEND with recent references to demonstrated excellent practice in/out the classroom.
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
  • Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
