Team Educate are recruiting for passionate teaching assistants who specialise in working with children with special educational needs. A primary school in BS10 are looking for teaching assistants to support their special needs resource base classroom on a temporary basis, with the opportunity of extending to permanent for the right candidate.

The role involves working with pupils on a 1 to 1 basis or a small group supporting their learning, encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.

A desirable special educational needs teaching assistant must have:

• Experience working in a SEN environment.
• Excellent communication skills
• Empathetic and nurturing characteristics
• High expectations of the children in their care

The special educational needs teaching assistant role includes:

• Providing 1:1 support
• Delivering group activities from the teachers planning
• Preparing and setting up resources
• Using your own initiative
• Developing literacy, numeracy and communication skills in children

As a special educational teaching assistant, you require:

• An enhanced Child Workforce DBS – we can process one for you.
• Safeguarding Training
• 2 years of professional references
• A Right to Work documentation.
