Prospero Teaching is looking for a Geography Teacher to join an Ofsted Outstanding, all-girls secondary school. The school is a unform wearing school and there is a 6th form onsite.

The school is based in Barnet, North West London, which is an Outer London school. There is parking onsite.

This Head of Geography teaching position starts in September 2024 and is a full-time teaching position. The dept aim to meet the demands of the National Curriculum for Geography and you will lead a team of Geography teachers. The Headteacher are seeking an experienced Geography teacher who can deliver well-planned lessons, keep up-to-date with national developments in Geography, pedagogy, and methodology and lead the teachers within the Geography department.

THE HEAD OF GEOGRAPHY TEACHING JOB:

• Full-time Head of Geography teaching role
• Teaching Key stage 3 and Key stage 4 and possibly key stage 5
• Design Technology is taught following AQA
• This is a mainstream, Ofsted Outstanding secondary school
• Full time (5 days a week) teaching position including planning and marking.
• Parking is available on site and the school is well-served by public transport

ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL HEAD OF GEOGRAPHY WILL BE

• Qualified Geography teacher - UK or Overseas Geography
• Ideally hold a teaching qualification (QTS or QTLS preferred) or equivalent.
• Someone who can manage students of different abilities and differentiate lessons in line with the needs of the students
• You will be proactive and innovative with the ability to engage students in different ways.
• Be a team player

HEAD OF GEOGRAPHY CONTRACT:

Location - Barnet

Position - Full Time Head of Geography

Type of work -Geography teaching in a secondary school

Start date - September 2024

Contract type - temporary to become permanent after 12 weeks

Full time/part time - Full time 5 days

Minimum rate of pay - MPS - UPS
