To support with the learner experience from recruitment to achievement and progression into employment.


To support with the implementation and effective use of Ctrg -Skills e-learning systems and platforms which impact on the learners experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the co-ordination of live cohorts and monitor attendance and retention for the learners who are on all programmes excluding Functional Skills.

  • Work with the Interim Director of Quality & Curriculum to deliver a service which leads on learner recruitment and the provision of customer focused advice and support services for prospective learner.

  • To lead and manage the development of integrated and effective learner support through a range of services, ensuring that all learner support services are of the highest standard and meet learner needs this will include enrichment and additional learning support.

  • To work in collaboration with Quality Assurance Manager to drive forward the learner experience and to be proactive in identifying new initiatives for raising the profile of the learner service and improving learner recruitment.
  • To lead the learner services team to ensure the delivery of regular time-tabled and documented provision and the provision of regular reports to SLT of any anomalies or issues which arise.

  • Lead and implement effective strategies which ensure that learners progress onto the non-funded pathways and there is effective monitoring of delivery of outcomes which is reported to Director of Operations to ensure that job outcomes can be recorded.

  • Contribute to and support the professional development of subject staff with their use of Ctrg Skills e-learning systems.

  • To be a member of the Safeguarding team and provide clear guidance to staff in dealing with safeguarding issues

  • To provide managment to Learner Services staff, always acting as a positive and proactive role model and be responsible for the setting and maintenance of high standards of professional conduct and achievement.

  • To develop and maintain a professional, safe, efficient and effective information and advice services, to the Matrix standard for all current and prospective learners.

  • To work in partnership with the Quality Assurance Manager and Interim Director of Quality & Curriculum to ensure that all recruiters have in depth knowledge and understanding of the programmes offered by the Ctrg Skills and the associated funding, enabling them to support learners in making the 'right choice' and provide excellent customer service.
  • To work with the Head of Operations on the admissions and enrolment processes to ensure a streamlined and intuitive application and enrolment process for both the learners at Ctrg Skills, including the improvement of online and telephone enrolment.

  • To lead and ensure that there is robust assessment processes and that any learning support is identified and working with the SENCO person that this is implemented with the necessary paperwork to meet learner needs.

  • In collaboration with relevant staff, support on the development of the learner voice strategy and inclusive learning, to ensure that a learner-led, inclusive approach is used in the planning and delivery our programmes for learners.

  • Support and report on KPIs and ensure that there is effective monitoring and evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of learner services improve learner retention and achievement.
  • Support tutors with learner disciplinary matters, ensuring that Ctrg Skills policies are followed.

Monitoring and Evaluation Daily Duties:

  • Ensure effective deployment of support staff and promote collaboration between all members of the team.;
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate the effective communication between learners and tutors with the Quality Assurance manager and Interim Director of Quality & Curriculum.
  • Oversee the internal and external e-learning operations and work closely with the Interim Director of Quality & Curriculum and the Quality Assurance Manager to continuously improve the e-learning offer of Ctrg Skills

Key Performance Indicators:

  • 90% of learners to report that they are satisfied or very satisfied with the learning support provided to them by Ctrg Skills
  • Co-ordinate and prepare all new cohorts and work with the Quality Assurance Manager to identify suitable tutors for delivery.
  • Ensure all cohorts have completed assignments for claims within 5 days of finishing a unit.

Key Requirements:

  • Successful experience of quality improvement activities and procedures.
  • Experience of high-quality learning, teaching and assessment.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage change.
  • The ability to develop positive working relationships with individuals at all levels (internal and external) to promote Ctrg Skills.
  • Highly developed communication skills (written and verbal), external liaison and networking skills;
  • The ability to motivate and encourage others, inspire trust and a sense of common purpose;
  • The ability to work effectively through teams and a critical and sensitive understanding of the roles of other staff;

  • Keeping up to date with safeguarding, prevent, declarations are made when required.
  • Monitoring equality and diversity ensuring learners feel safe and receive equal opportunities.

Team Working and Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with others to develop effective professional relationship.
  • Secure productive contacts and links with external organisations, employers and agencies that will benefit learners on and provide further opportunities for income generation and collaboration.
