We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Secondary Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Northamptonshire. The successful candidate will lead and manage the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring that all students have access to a high-quality education and support that meets their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school's SEND policy, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice guidelines.
* Coordinate the identification, assessment, and provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), working closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies.
* Provide guidance, support, and training to staff on best practices for supporting students with SEND in the classroom and beyond.
* Collaborate with the leadership team, teachers, and other stakeholders to create and maintain a supportive and inclusive school environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students.
* Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate records, including individual education plans (IEPs), EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans), and other relevant documentation.
* Liaise with external agencies, including local authorities, health services, and specialist support services, to access additional support and resources for students with SEND as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs Coordination (SENCO) or willingness to work towards SENCO qualification.
* Proven experience working in a leadership role within a secondary school setting, preferably as a SENCO or in a similar SEND leadership position.
* Strong understanding of SEND requirements and legislation, including experience with EHCPs and the SEND Code of Practice.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
* A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to stay abreast of current trends and best practices in SEND provision.
* Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo clearance) is essential.
