Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work within Special Needs Schools within Exeter starting immediately.

  • You will guide and support assigned pupils in achieving their personalised learning targets
  • Following any EHCPs that are in place for individual pupils
  • Approaching situations in a patient yet caring manner
  • The ability to build positive relationships with the pupils is required

  • This school is for Secondary aged children with SEN, such as ASC and ADHD
  • This school seeks to provide an appropriate and high-quality education for all the children in their school
  • A warm and inclusive environment, they provide bespoke, child-centred, high quality education programmes, which aim to ensure that all the students individual educational needs are met
  • There are opportunities for the role to become permanent with the school after a qualifying period

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Have previous experience of working with children or young people; ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting within the last 2 years.
  • Have experience of hoisting/moving and handling in a care or school setting
  • Hold, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS, registered to the Update Service
  • Must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle 

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • recent experience obtained within the last 2 years, of working with children or young people, ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting. We must be able to obtain references from these roles.
