Hours of Work: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Term Time

Pay: £85-£100 per day

Role and Responsibilities:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH), you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with additional needs within our client's inclusive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored support to students with SEMH needs, both in classroom settings and during one-on-one sessions.
  • Collaborating closely with teaching staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Assisting in the creation and adaptation of learning materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Utilizing effective behaviour management strategies to foster a positive and supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Building strong rapport with students, offering encouragement and guidance to help them overcome barriers to learning.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and SENCO as required.
  • Contributing to the overall ethos of inclusion and equality within the school community.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs in an educational setting.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students with challenging behaviours.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
