Behaviour LSA or Youth Worker is required to work as an LSA at an SEMH Provision located in the Borough of Greenwich. The ideal Youth Worker or Behaviour LSA will have excellent skills, with a proven track record of providing 1:1 support to young people. Monday to Friday 8:20am – 4pm temp to perm position to start immediately.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant /HLTA/ Youth Worker/ Teaching Assistant has worked in a either a PRU/ Alternative Provision/ SEN School.  You would be working with children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.  The new Behaviour LSA will have experience with SEN pupils (ie SEMH / ASD/ ADHD/ Complex Needs / PDA/ ODD/ ADD etc) in either a Alternative Provision / PRU /  SEN School or Mainstream School.  You will be working with young people and children, getting them engaged in their education within the classroom, building a strong rapport with them and ensuring that they become the best versions of themselves.  Additionally de-escalating behaviour if this is required and to also build a strong rapport with them. 

• Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour, ASD, SEMH, and ADHD.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to deescalate behaviour in a calm and professional manner.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
• A willingness to work flexibly.
• Provide 1:1 support to young people with challenging behaviour, ASD, SEMH, and ADHD.
• Deescalate behaviour in a calm and professional manner.
• Support young people in the classroom to enable them to access learning.
• Work collaboratively with other professionals to provide a holistic approach to support young people.
• Ensure that all interventions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Attend and contribute to meetings as required.
• You have an in date Enhanced DBS or able to pau for a new one ASAP
• You live in easy commutable distance to the London Borough of Greenwich.
