The School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Professional (STEP) deliver a key part of the College’s provision with programmes ranging from Level 1 to Level 6 HE, including an extensive apprenticeship provision.

The School is divided into a number of sections, with these roles based in the Further Education Business Section. This section delivers a range of vocational Business BTEC Level 1 to Level 3 programmes together with T levels in Accounting and Finance.

We are now seeking two Lecturers, one to teach on a variety of Business courses and levels across the curriculum area, including but not limited to: BTEC Business Studies Level 1, 2 & 3 and a Lecturer with an Accounting / Finance Specialism to teach primarily on the T-Level Finance and Accounting (Level 3) along with the BTEC Business Studies Level 1, 2 & 3.

As Lecturer in Business (Accounting Specialism), you will take responsibility for the group tutorship of one or more of courses within the School and contribute to the development of existing and new provision, as well as the implementation of flexible and cost effective teaching and learning styles.

We’re looking for someone who has excellent teaching skills and relevant teaching experience on BTEC programmes in Business, across a range of levels. You will hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject and be able to support, motivate and empathise with learners, including monitoring their progress.

With energy, enthusiasm and passion for the subject and education, you will have high personal standards and expectations and be aware of academic quality standards. A teaching qualification is not essential however we do ask that you are willing to achieve one in line with current regulations.

Please note that this post is funded for the 2024/25 academic year so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence in post prior to August 2024.

Subject to a cost of living review from 1 August, the successful candidate will be eligible for any subsequent increase in salary.
