Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Tutor to provide essential support to a student with unique medical and educational needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with sensory needs and a diagnosis of ADHD, as well as a positive and supportive attitude towards learning.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide 1:1 tuition to a student with sensory needs and a diagnosis of ADHD and Cutis Aplasia, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
2. Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate the student's medical needs, including discomfort in sitting and handling paper.
3. Support the student's literacy development, building on their current progress and increasing their confidence in reading and comprehension.
4. Foster a positive attitude towards school and learning, encouraging the student to take pride in their achievements and continue making progress.
5. Collaborate with school staff and medical professionals to ensure continuity of support and align educational goals with medical needs.
6. Maintain regular communication with the student's family to provide updates on progress and discuss any concerns or adjustments needed.

Requirements:

1. Experience working with students with sensory needs and ADHD, preferably in a 1:1 tuition setting.
2. Knowledge of educational strategies and accommodations for students with medical needs, such as ADHD and Cutis Aplasia.
3. Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and their families.
4. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting students with diverse needs.
5. Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of the student and accommodate medical appointments or procedures.
