About the School: Our client, a reputable school nestled within the heart of Brent, is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialization in managing challenging behaviors to join their dedicated team. The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos and commitment to providing a nurturing environment where every student can thrive. Situated in a modern building equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the school offers a supportive atmosphere for both staff and students alike.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support for students with Special Educational Needs, focusing on those with challenging behaviors.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the social and emotional development of students.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the holistic support of students.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching staff and parents/carers as necessary.
  • Implement safeguarding procedures and adhere to school policies and procedures at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN, particularly those with challenging behaviors, is essential.
  • Possession of relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, CACHE Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • A patient and resilient attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to challenging situations.
  • Commitment to promoting the inclusion and well-being of all students, regardless of their individual needs or backgrounds.
