GSL Education is supporting local primary schools to find individuals passionate about nurturing young minds and creating a positive learning environment. We are actively seeking dedicated and caring Teaching Assistants to join our wonderful schools to help promote positive behaviour and engage pupils in learning.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be providing support and contributing to the growth and development of pupils, supporting the class teacher to engage and motivate pupils, and responding to their needs. Although the schools are mainstream primary schools, you may still be required to support students with Special Education Needs on a 1:1 or small group basis. Therefore, any previous experience or knowledge of SEN is extremely desirable.

The ideal Teaching Assistant candidate will have relevant experience, enjoy working with children and implementing strategies to engage and inspire them, and be flexible and adapt to the diverse needs of the children. This role is open for candidates looking for full-time work, however part-time applicants will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in classroom activities, collaborating with class teachers to enhance the overall learning experience for primary school students.

• Your primary focus will be providing personalised support to pupils, with guidance from the class teacher, reinforcing concepts, and assisting in the pupils’ academic journey for a well-rounded educational experience.

• You will play a pivotal role in creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere, actively promoting positive behaviour through the schools’ behaviour policy, and contributing to the development of a supportive school community.

• Contribute to the organisation and preparation of teaching materials, ensuring that the classroom is well-equipped to facilitate effective learning

The Ideal Teaching Assistant:

• Must be patient, reliable and consistent

• Be able to work well in a team

• Be proactive in meeting students' needs

• Have 1:1 experience with children

• Should be able to empathise with their pupils and be able to set a good example

• Position - Teaching Assistant

• Type of work – Small group and 1:1 sessions with pupils

• Contract type - Temp to Perm

• Full time/part time

• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate £12.82 per hour
