Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary School Maths Teacher to support our client schools in Didsbury and surrounding areas. As a Maths Teacher, you will inspire students to develop a deep understanding and appreciation for maths, equipping them with essential problem-solving skills and mathematical literacy up to GCSE level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality maths lessons that engage and challenge students, aligning with the national curriculum and incorporating a variety of teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning needs.

  • Conceptual Understanding: Foster a conceptual understanding of mathematical principles and procedures, encouraging students to explore mathematical concepts through hands-on activities, real-world applications, and problem-solving tasks.

  • Numeracy Skills: Develop students' numeracy skills, including computational fluency, mathematical reasoning, and proficiency in using mathematical tools and technology.

  • Assessment and Feedback: Implement effective assessment practices to monitor student progress and attainment, providing regular feedback and support to help students achieve their full potential in mathematics.

  • Differentiation: Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students, providing additional support and extension opportunities as necessary to ensure all learners are challenged and supported appropriately.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues to promote cross-curricular links and support students' holistic development, as well as contributing to departmental initiatives and the wider school community.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialization in mathematics.
  • Relevant degree in mathematics or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level is desirable.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics education.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of current educational research and best practices in mathematics teaching.
