The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in ASD, you will:

  • Provide individualized assistance to students with ASD, facilitating their engagement with the curriculum and helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Continuously monitor the progress of students with ASD, offering valuable feedback to teachers and parents to support their educational development effectively.
  • Create a nurturing and safe environment specifically tailored to the needs of students with ASD, offering emotional support and encouragement as they navigate their educational journey.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the education of students with ASD, ensuring a collaborative approach to support.
  • Advocate for the inclusion and sense of belonging of students with ASD within the school community, fostering an environment where they feel valued and supported.

Requirements:
We're seeking candidates who possess:

  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, with a specific focus on supporting students with ASD.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in the context of supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Adaptability and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary school team.
  • Previous experience supporting students with ASD is highly advantageous.
