Are you passionate about shaping young minds through the power of language and literature? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our vibrant community starting in April 2024.

Position: English Teacher

Type: Full-time (Part-time considered for the right candidate)

Start Date: April 2024

Contract Duration: Until the end of the academic year with the potential for permanent placement

Pay: This is based of your experience and pay scale, starting at £140 and going up to £250 a day.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a talented English Teacher to inspire and guide our students in their academic journey.

Responsibilities:

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to students in Key Stages 3 to 4, with the added benefit if you can also teach to Key Stage 5. Your passion for literature, language, and effective communication will contribute to the development of essential skills in our students.

  • Curriculum Development: Design and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons that align with the national curriculum for Key Stages 3 to 4. If you have experience with Key Stage 5, it would be a valuable asset.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Implement effective assessment strategies to track student progress and provide constructive feedback. Utilise a variety of assessment tools to inform instructional practices.
  • Classroom Management: Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, fosters a love for English, and ensures a safe and respectful atmosphere for all.
  • Parental Engagement: Collaborate with parents and guardians to provide regular updates on student performance and promote a collaborative approach to education.
  • Professional Development: Actively engage in ongoing professional development opportunities, contributing to your growth as an educator and enriching the overall teaching and learning environment.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Encourage and participate in extracurricular activities, such as literary clubs, writing workshops, or drama productions, to further enhance the English learning experience beyond the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching English to Key Stages 3 to 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable)
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and positive learning environment.
