About Us:

As an Exams Officer, you will play a vital role in facilitating the examination process, ensuring fairness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and understand exam requirements, policies, and procedures, and ensure staff awareness of relevant regulations.

Keep abreast of developments and changes in JCQ and awarding body regulations, providing guidance and instructions to staff.

Work collaboratively with the Hatcham Leadership Team to devise and manage internal exam timetables, rooming, seating, and invigilation.

Collate examination registration and entry data, ensuring accurate entry onto the computer system and timely dispatch according to deadlines.

Liaise with internal stakeholders to monitor and submit final entries/registrations to awarding bodies, making timely changes as necessary.

Prepare, download, print, and distribute examination results, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely dissemination to candidates.

Disseminate examination board information to staff, students, and parents/carers as required.

Support the SENCO in implementing examination access arrangements and reasonable adjustments for eligible candidates.

Process post-results services such as review of marking or appeals.

Organize secure storage of examination stationery and materials in accordance with regulations.

Investigate and report cases of suspected or actual malpractice in connection with examinations.

Provide exam timetables, seating plans, and briefings to candidates and staff.

Manage a team of invigilators, including training and regular briefings.

Oversee the distribution of examination results and certificates to candidates.

Manage the examinations budget and oversee staff absences, arranging cover as necessary.

Authorize agency invoices and complete time sheets.

Provide emergency cover throughout the day, including room changes if required.

Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the grading of the post.

Qualifications and Skills:

Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.

Strong understanding of examination regulations and procedures, including JCQ and awarding body requirements.

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and relevant software applications.

Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.

Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and demands.
