Wayman Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 2 Teacher for a wonderful independent school in North London starting in September. The Year 2 Teacher will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education to students aged 6 to 7, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development during this crucial stage of their primary education journey. Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that cater to the diverse needs of Year 2 students.
- Implement appropriate teaching strategies to engage and inspire students.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to students and using data to inform instructional decisions.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues, maintaining open communication and collaboration to support student learning and well-being.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies and promote a positive classroom culture based on mutual respect, responsibility, and cooperation.
- Provide pastoral care and support to students, addressing any social or emotional needs and promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, staff meetings, and school events, contributing to the ongoing improvement of teaching and learning practices within the school community.
Year 2 Teacher Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 1, preferably with specific experience teaching Year 2 students.
- Strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum, assessment practices, and educational standards.
- Passion for working with young children and a commitment to fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
