Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (Level 3 or Above)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (Level 3 or above) with a background in supporting pupils with additional needs. The successful candidate will have experience working with children with conditions such as ADHD and Autism, and will be committed to providing continuous support within our school environment. This role requires someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and who can effectively manage challenging behaviors.

Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs, including those with ADHD and Autism, both in individual and group settings.
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) as directed by the SENCO and teaching staff.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel supported and valued.
Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to deliver differentiated lessons and activities.
Monitor and track the progress of pupils with special educational needs, providing feedback to the SENCO and teachers as required.
Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviors effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of all pupils at all times.
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and interventions, in line with school policies and procedures.
Requirements:

Minimum Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
Proven experience working with pupils with special educational needs, particularly those with ADHD and Autism.
Strong understanding of the barriers faced by pupils with additional needs and the ability to adapt support strategies accordingly.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
Resilience, patience, and a positive attitude towards supporting children with challenging behaviors.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and willingness to undertake relevant training as required.
Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain) is essential.
