School Chef

£15.54 per hour, HG1, Monday to Friday, Term time only, Pension, Training, Temporary role

Following a change of structure we have the opportunity for an experienced chef to join the catering team of a well regarded secondary school in Harrogate

Working as a school chef you will:

• Prepare and cook meals for pupils from set menus

• Work with kitchen and catering staff to ensure an efficient lunch service

• Supervise the kitchen team as and when required

• Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety and food allergy legislation

We would expect the successful candidate to have experience of working in a large professional kitchen as a chef or a cook. Experience of working in a childcare setting would be beneficial although training can be given.

This would be an ideal role if you have a catering or hospitality background and are looking for a role offering daytime hours in Harrogate.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

You will be joining the catering team of a well regarded Harrogate secondary school, working with the wider facilities team to ensure all pupil needs are met. Due to the restructuring this is a temporary role but could lead to a permanent opportunity for the right candidate. The role offers weekday hours of 8am - 2pm term time only and a pay rate of £15.54 per hour, job shares will also be considered.
