Teacher Active are excited to work with primary schools in Selly Oak that help support vulnerable children who have Special Educational Needs differing from Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) to Global Developmental Delay.

The schools we work with pride themselves by giving a mass amount of support to their students by focusing on desirable behaviour and skills to become independent for life after school. They have created a strategy to build a strong foundation for the development and learning for their students by building and strengthening healthy relationships between teacher and student.

The schools we work with are looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant and give them the opportunity to provide long term placements supporting the children with their education and their needs. We have experienced and dedicated SEND Consultants choosing placements that suit your availability, preference and skills.

The ideal TA / Teaching Assistant should have the following:

• Level 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months’ experience in an educational establishment
• A calm, patient and caring persona
• Good communication skills
• A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
