Teaching Assistant role available at a Mainstream Primary School in Lambeth.

We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join the team at a Primary School based close to Clapham.

This role will see you providing support to a child in Key Stage 2, who has Special Educational Needs. You will be working closely with the child to support them with their learning.

In order to be successful, you will need to be firm, but have a calm manner. Ideally, you will have experience and training in working with children with Autism.

In addition, you will be good at forming relationships, as it will be important for you to build a nurturing and supportive relationship with the child. You will be able to adapt the day in line with the changing needs of the child, and to try different approaches to give them the best possible chance of achieving their potential.

  • ASAP start
  • Working Monday to Friday
  • 8:30am to 4pm
  • Pay between £85 and £95 per day, depending on experience

The school offer a supportive working environment, with an approachable leadership team. You will be an important part of the Teaching Assistant team, supported by the SENDCo.

Due to the nature of this role, the school are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is able to be committed to the role, and able to form a strong relationship with the children in order to best support them with their learning. Disruption can be challenging for children who have SEND, so consistency will be key. You will need to be available to commit to this position for at least 1 full school term, until July 2024. There is also potential for this role to continue beyond this date.
